About CEI

The Center for Environmental Intelligence (CEI) is a hub for “Green and Sustainable Tech Transfer” at VinUni. Key research areas involve the development of AI-driven advanced materials for energy storage, energy conversion, and green chemical production.

Key responsibilities:

• Design and synthesize high specific capacity cathode materials for rechargeable batteries, particularly focusing on layered transition metal oxides for sodium-ion batteries.
• Perform material/electrochemical characterization and interpret experimental results.
• Prepare manuscripts and reports, publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
• Provide assistance to research proposal writing and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.

Qualifications and skills:

• We are looking for a highly creative self-motivated team player with a Master’s degree for the Research Assistant position, and a Ph.D. for the Postdoctoral Fellow in Materials Science or related fields.
• Deep knowledge of solid-state chemistry and cathode chemistry.
• Extensive experience with cathode synthesis, battery electrode fabrication, cell assembly and testing, standard electrochemical techniques (e.g., GDC, CV, chronoamperometry, EIS, etc.), and a range of characterization instruments (e.g., XRD, SEM, TEM, TGA, DSC, FTIR, Raman, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to design experiments, conduct independent research and contribute to peer-reviewed publications.
• Ability to work as an independent researcher with a high level of scientific judgment and initiative, as well as to collaborate with other researchers in a diverse team environment.
