Research Assistant – EV Smart Charging
Research Assistant – EV Smart Charging
About the project:
The “Advancing Sustainable EV Charging through Green Infrastructure and Smart Charging techniques” focuses on the development of a novel green charging station testbed to accelerate sustainable electric vehicle (EV) adoption. It integrates renewable energy sources (solar, wind) with battery energy storage to reduce grid dependence. A digital twin model will be built to simulate and optimize system performance. The project’s emphasis is on the development of optimized smart charging techniques that align with renewable energy availability, ensuring a reliable and eco-friendly EV charging infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design smart charging techniques to optimize energy use, prioritize renewable energy while ensuring that the charging needs of electric vehicles are met.
- Collect and analyze digital data on renewable energy (solar, wind turbine).
- Develop models that integrate uncertainty (power generation, electric vehicle demand, grid availability).
- Design smart charging algorithms (e.g., time-of-life pricing, grid optimization, V2G – grid-enabled electric vehicles).
- Simulate and evaluate the performance of the algorithm in a parallel digitization model (indicators: grid dependence, renewable energy use, user satisfaction).
- Publish research result in reputable journals and conferences.
Benefits:
- Opportunities for paper submissions.
- Access to resources for conducting research.
- Training in optimization and simulation research from top scientists.
Requirements:
- Knowledgeable in Electrical Engineering, Data Science and Machine Learning.
- Experience with publishing papers is a plus.
