OVERVIEW

COMOSA 2025 marks the inaugural year in which two academic networks —the Vietnamese Climate Science and Environmental Modelling Network (VCSEMN) and the Vietnam Operations Research Network (VORN) under the Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM) — jointly organize a unified forum. This interdisciplinary platform brings together researchers, practitioners, and students across fields related to optimization, modeling, simulation, analytics, and environmental systems. The primary objective is to foster collaboration, share insights, and explore innovative solutions to real-world challenges through discussions on the latest advancements and applications in these domains.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

  • Andrea Schaerf, University of Udine, Italy

Prof. Andrea Schaerf is a Full Professor at the University of Udine with extensive expertise in optimization, timetabling, and metaheuristics. He has served as Program Chair for major conferences like PATAT and MIC and is on the editorial boards of International Transactions in Operational Research and the Journal of Scheduling. His recent work focuses on integrated scheduling in healthcare, including his leadership role in the IHTC-2024 competition.

  • Alexis Drogoul, Ummisco, IRD, France

Prof. Alexis Drogoul is a senior researcher at IRD and a leading figure in agent-based modeling for sustainability. He is the co-creator of the GAMA platform and has over 200 publications on socio-environmental systems modeling. His work supports transdisciplinary research and stakeholder engagement, particularly in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
