Strengthening Vietnam’s Semiconductor Industry Through Global Collaboration

At a recent forum hosted by the National Innovation Center and Ho Chi Minh City National University, industry experts and government representatives discussed how Vietnam can strengthen its competitive edge in the rapidly growing semiconductor sector, projected to be worth $1 trillion by 2030. Professor Laurent El Ghaoui, Vice Provost at VinUniversity, highlighted the vital role of international collaboration.

He emphasized that global partnerships should go beyond governments and academic institutions to include companies across the industry. “Many companies are already creating their own programs and internships. Why not unite to form an alliance?” Prof. El Ghaoui suggested, underscoring that collective efforts, however small, can lead to significant, impactful change.

This model, he believes, could be a blueprint for Vietnam’s ideal approach to international cooperation, driving sustainable growth and innovation in the semiconductor industry.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to the National Innovation Center for their kind invitation and the opportunity to have this intriguing dialogue with leaders and experts.
